A few ground rules – when we talk about customization, we are talking about making changes to the wood slab, not the reinforced steel desk frame. As such, any customization to the size of the wood slab will need to fit within the dimensions of the desk frame: 1100mm-1800mm (length), 700-800mm (width).

No, we only sell our solid wood desks as a complete package. 

While our solid wood slabs are carefully selected for durability, compression damage and cosmetic abrasions from improper care is another matter. That’s why you should always take extra precautions with devices that come into contact with your solid wood slabs, especially those with hard or sharp surfaces. 

• Make sure your clamp connection is snug but not overtightened.
• Try clamping a board between the monitor arm base and the wood slab, and a thick piece of cloth in between. The board distributes the force more evenly,  reducing the risk of deformation. 

Magic! Just kidding. All our desks are electronically-controlled with a control panel on the underside of the desk. It moves up or down via a dual-motor system built-into the desk frame. Our experts will guide you how to use and care for the desk during installation. 

1. Regular Cleaning:

   • Dusting: Use a soft, dry cloth to dust the surface regularly.
   • Wiping: Clean the tabletop with a damp cloth and mild soap solution. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that can damage the wood finish.

2. Protection:

   • Use Coasters and Placemats: Place coasters under drinks and placemats under plates to prevent water rings, heat damage, and scratches.
   • Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the wood to fade or warp. Use curtains or blinds to shield the tabletop from intense sunlight.
   • Temperature and Humidity Control: Maintain a stable indoor environment. Extreme fluctuations in temperature and humidity can cause the wood to expand or contract, leading to cracks or warping.

3. Preventing Damage:

   • Avoid Placing Hot Objects Directly: Always use trivets or hot pads under hot pots and pans to prevent heat damage.
   • Use Gentle Cleaners: Opt for cleaners specifically designed for wood furniture. Avoid ammonia-based products which can strip the finish.

4. Oiling and Polishing:

   • Oiling: Depending on the finish, you may not need to oil the tabletop every year. However, if the wood looks dry or dull, you can apply a thin layer of a suitable wood oil or conditioner to restore its luster. Always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations.
   • Polishing: Use a high-quality furniture polish occasionally to enhance the shine and provide a protective layer.

5. Repairing Minor Damages:

   • Scratches and Dents: Minor scratches can often be fixed with a touch-up marker or a wood filler that matches the wood color. For deeper dents or scratches, consider professional repair.
   • Water Rings: Water rings can sometimes be removed by gently rubbing with a mixture of baking soda and water or using a specialized wood cleaner.

6. Periodic Inspection:

   • Regularly inspect your tabletop for signs of wear, damage, or dryness. Addressing issues early can prevent more significant problems in the future.
